So the other day in my hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma, a young lady by the name of Sheron Armstead, tragically lost her life(VERY YOUNG LIFE) in a car accident with a drunk driver. From what I could tell through my Facebook feed she was loved and well liked by a lot of people. I had a conversation with a friend about it. I kept saying, she looks familiar and I SHOULD know her because she’s around my age, and she’s from Tulsa. My heart sincerely breaks for her family and close friends. She was a mother, a daughter, a friend, among many other things. She certainly had a full life ahead of her to fulfill what dreams she may have had. In my attempt to figure out more about who this was I, I looked her up on Facebook to see if I could possibly see better pics of her that I hadn’t seen in my feed. I finally look her up only to find out….WE ARE ALREADY FB FREINDS. This hit me like a ton of bricks! How could this be? How could this person that everyone finds so wonderful be right under my nose and I completely miss it??!!!—-My question is this: Do you have someone in your mix that you are overlooking or maybe not paying that much attention to that is right under your nose. From what I can tell she was a great person, that loved to have fun…That being said… R.I.P. Sheron Armstead Your “REAL” friends are gonna truly miss you and your smile.

New Year, New Venture!!

In about an hour it will be my birthday. February 8th. I must admit i’m quite happy with most things in my life at the moment. I’m really excited about my latest venture. I’ve always been into pictures, but the love for them went to the next level over the last two years. I’ve been taking pictures of pretty much anything that would let me. Breathing things and non breathing things.LOL I can see the progression from when I first started up to now. Although I am not exactly where I want to be, I feel comfortable with where I am; and comfortable with seriously taking pics of people, and not just soda cans, birds and shoes. I am attempting to grow everyday and I feel great about that. I figured today would be the perfect day to launch my photography website. www.toniestesphotographs.com It took me a hot minute(more like a hot hour)to finally do this. Like my mom always says, “The race is not given to the swift or to the strong, but to the one that endures until the end”—-New Year, New Venture!!!

One thing I hate the most is people who treat people according to what they think the person can do for them. If you’re deemed, “fresh enough”, or “pretty enough”, then you may be worthy of their conversation. If not then you’re out of luck. I was recently on a trip to Los Angeles for work, and had a guy sit next to me, that if I had control of who sat next to me, I probably would have picked someone else. He looked like he might be mean and he was a big guy and I had my baby with me so it seemed like it was going to be a wee bit uncomfortable. Turns out he was SUPER nice. His personality was kind of dry, but he was very accommodating, and didn’t make a single complaint when I had my baby stuff all over the place and even let me use his tray to sit my drink on cause the space was too tight with me holding the baby…BUT, BEFORE I figured out he was nice, I had a thought. “What if this is God?” “What if this is one of God’s angels appointed to sit by me to protect for this flight?”….Hmmmm…Makes you think, doesn’t it? I think if we asked ourselves that question more often when we meet new people, we would be a lot nicer…Just a thought…What if God was One of Us??????

Way to many people in this world think they are the oracle of ALL subjects. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians, too many teachers and not enough students, too many bosses and not enough employees, too many…I ran of things to say, but you get my drift!..LOL…People often have a habit of giving people they’re unsolicited advice..Thanks but no thanks…There are certain people in this world, whose opinions I highly regaurd. I’m learning everyday to eat the meat and spit out the bones at the dinner of the first group of people I talked about. I guess my question is…Who Died and Made You King of Anything?”
